The external handrail system is made from high grade aluminium extrusions anodised to marine grade and is 100% compliant with NORSOK standard C-002.
To meet the exacting requirements of the Norwegian petroleum industry’s safety standards the system features a continuous unobstructed top rail, along with matching mid and bottom rails, to ensure there is no need to break hand contact - even through elevation and directional changes.
It provides a number of key advantages over the handrails that have traditionally been used on ships and offshore oil and gas platforms, including that anodised aluminium does not corrode like mild steel and that the Alphastrut handrails will retain their structural integrity when struck by an external force.
The system also benefits from quick no-welding installation on both new and retrofit projects, easy adaptability to any layout and a low maintenance requirement with no painting needed.
This combination of fast installation, high durability and minimal maintenance requirements means the Alphastrut handrail system delivers an attractive life cycle cost.
