Abu Dhabi-based Sigma is a leading supplier of specialist equipment and services to the oil and gas industry, with a track record of successfully working in partnership with international brands to sell their technical products in the UAE.
It is part of the Mazrui Energy Services group of companies, a major supplier of products, services and integrated solutions to the oil and gas, petrochemical, utilities, civil engineering and maritime sectors across the Middle East.
The deal extends Alphastrut’s international reach, building on existing agency agreements in key territories including Norway, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
David Lawson, Managing Director of Alphastrut, said: “We’re delighted to have reached an agreement with Sigma Enterprises (Oil Field Division) to represent us in what has the potential to be a huge market for our products.
“Sigma has the local knowledge and customer base required to help Alphastrut take advantage of the opportunities offered by the UAE’s high-value offshore oil and gas sector.”
Alphastrut’s aluminium support system was developed as a weight-saving solution for the topside modules of North Sea oil and gas platforms.
The fully-bolted system, which requires no welding or hot works for installation or re-configuration, is now in use on BP, Nexen and Aker BP ASA platforms for applications including raised access floors with integrated sub-floor cable containment, overhead service support grids, bulkhead supports, stairs and ramps.
The durable Alphastrut aluminium handrail system was designed for welding-free installation and a low maintenance regime, significantly reducing lifecycle costs.
It is NORSOK approved and features a continuous unobstructed top rail, so there is no need to break hand contact even on corners or stairs, and can be used in both exterior and interior settings in either new-build or retrofit projects.
