Alphastrut® has strengthened its position as a supplier to the European offshore oil & gas sector by being approved for the Achilles JQS supplier register and pre-qualification system.
JQS is used by buyers in the Norwegian and Danish oil & gas industry to manage supplier information and risk within the supply chain, helping to simplify the tender process and improve the efficiency of procurement.
Alphastrut’s unique aluminium support system for the topside modules of offshore platforms has already been installed on a number of North Sea developments and the company is confident that the latest approval will give it access to further opportunities in the region.
Pat McNiff, Project Manager for Alphastrut, said: “Approval for Achilles JQS gives us greater visibility to buyers from oil companies and main contractors working on major offshore projects.
“This will create additional opportunities to tender for new business and demonstrate the advantages of using Alphastrut products to engineers not yet familiar with them.”
Alphastrut, which already had Achilles FPAL approval, has previously seen its aluminium support system specified for use on BP, Nexen and Aker BP ASA platforms.
The system, which can be utilised for overhead service support grids and load-bearing raised access floors with integrated sub-floor cable containment, was specifically designed as a weight-saving solution for topside modules and offers a range of benefits, including quick welding-free installation and easier manual handling.
